Voice Work

Your blog is about to be recorded into an audiobook. If you could choose anyone — from your grandma to Samuel L. Jackson — to narrate your posts, who would it be?

I have only two options here: it’s gonna be me or Emma Stone.

As it says in many descriptions I’ve written about myself for blogs and school, I like to think of myself as someone who is potentially witty or funny. While I don’t actually know if I’m making you laugh, what I can say is that Emma Stone will find a way to make you. I’m not a fan of actual comedy in film or on television, but I appreciate Stone’s humor and effortless flow of narration. On the business side of things, I would get an infinite amount of publicity, which is never a bad thing.

The other option is myself for one big reason: I write in my voice. Duh. It’s a bit different from my other blog, since my other blog is fictional short stories. There, I’m the author but not the narrator. For this blog here, I’m both, so it would only make sense that I read it in my voice. Now while my voice isn’t going to do anything for my publicity, at least I’ll truly feel like the recording is my own and that every stutter and hiccup is awkward but authentic.
